UV DTF Printing: What It Is and What It Is Best For

UV DTF is a newer transfer method designed for hard surfaces. If you have seen custom logos on a Hydro Flask, tumbler or water bottle, there is a good chance UV DTF was involved.

How UV DTF is different from regular DTF

Regular DTF transfers need a heat press and are made for fabric. UV DTF uses UV-cured inks printed onto a film with an adhesive layer. The finished transfer is applied by pressing it onto the item, with no heat press, and the film is then removed leaving the design behind.

What it works on

  • Stainless steel flasks and tumblers
  • Glass and ceramic mugs
  • Plastic bottles and containers
  • Notebooks, phone cases and other smooth hard items

Why people choose it

  • Sharp, colorful designs with fine detail
  • Great for logos and names on drinkware
  • Works well for small custom runs and gifts

Care tips

For printed drinkware, hand washing is usually recommended over the dishwasher. Ask us for care guidance specific to your item when you order.
